How To Write A Eulogy, And Why You Should
Associates,Hopefully, you took some pre-workout before reading this because we are discussing one of the most heavy, yet powerful tools my real estate coach gave me when we first started working together: Writing Your Eulogy 📜. HELPFUL LINKS
Write Your Eulogy I have done some weird things, but this? It seemed so dark and gloomy. Dwelling on the day that I’d be buried 6’ under felt morbid beyond belief. I’d paid my real estate coach big bucks to teach me how to change my life, to make my dreams a reality, and to rewire my mindset about the world, money, and real estate... What did this have to do with buying assets? I don't know if you have ever experienced anything like this before... (If you read BURN EVERYTHING TO THE GROUND, you might have 😊) it is hard to explain, but I will give it a shot. Desires, dreams, missions written on my heart that I was created to accomplish… it all started to surface. As I finished it, I thought: What is a Eulogy, and Why Does it Matter?A eulogy is a speech someone gives at your funeral, sharing who you were, what you accomplished, and how you impacted the world and the people in it, particularly those who meant the most to you. The challenge of this exercise is this: unless we make immediate changes to how we live our lives, that report may not be as good as it could have been. In Psalm 90:12, the bible discusses the power of considering our own mortality: "So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom." When life gets hard—and it will—this exercise can also serve as a grounding tool. When you’re feeling discouraged or unsure of your next step, you can look back at your eulogy and remember who you are, what you value, and why you’re here. I don’t know about you, but clarity is something I can’t get enough of. Ask Yourself Questions Like TheseTo begin, open a blank document or grab a notebook. Just like you would with a personal balance sheet, start typing or writing. Don’t worry about making it perfect or polished. Ask yourself these questions:
This exercise isn’t about figuring out how you’ll achieve these things. It’s not about creating a step-by-step plan. It’s about looking inside to find that factory-installed purpose. It’s about defining what matters most to you—what you hope will be true about your life when all is said and done. Take the ChallengeHere’s what I want you to do: set aside some time this week to write your eulogy. Find a quiet place, turn off your phone, and let yourself dream. Write about who you want to be, what you want to accomplish, and the impact you want to leave behind. Don’t rush it. Take your time. This isn’t set in stone. You can edit it, tweak it, and rewrite it as often as you need to. Life changes, and so do we. But right now, in this season, this exercise can help you get clear on what’s most important to you, and as we have been discussing developing a compelling vision for your health, wealth, and relationships. -Jonathan If you like this content, would you do me a huge favor and share it with every living being you have ever heard of?
